The open mic is for queer poets who haven’t previously read at BOLD: poets will be (literally) picked from a hat; one poem each, up to 10 x 3min slots. Tickets are half-price for those signing up.

Inkandescent were founded by Justin David and Nathan Evans to shine a light on writers underrepresented in mainstream publishing. Recent publications include Address Book by Neil Bartlett, shortlisted for the Polari Prize 2021, and Mainstream featuring writers including Kit de Waal, Kerry Hudson and Juliet Jacques.

Nathan Evans is a writer and performer who’s worked at venues including The Royal Court, Royal Festival Hall and Royal Vauxhall Tavern. Publishers of his poetry include Royal Society of Literature, Manchester Metropolitan University and Dead Ink. He was longlisted for Live Canon International Poetry Competition and his collection Threads was longlisted for Polari First Book Prize.

lisa luxx is an poet, activist and writer of British and Syrian heritage. Her poems are published in The Telegraph and The London Magazine, and by publishers including Hachette and Saqi Books. Her work is broadcast on Channel 4, BBC Radio 4 and TEDx. In 2021 she toured UK theatres with her verse play Eating the Copper Apple, produced by a team of all Arab women artists. Her debut book Fetch Your Mother’s Heart is out now through Out-Spoken Press. Her short stories are published by Comma Press.‘

Kostya Tsolakis is a London-based poet, born and raised in Athens, Greece. He is founding editor of harana poetry, the online magazine for poets writing in English as a second or parallel language. His pamphlet, Ephebos, is out with ignitionpress.
